Grandpa Scared Off Man Who Offered Child Candy: Cops

Bradenton police are looking for a man in connection with a 'suspicious circumstance' involving a 10-year-old child.

BRADENTON, FL — The Bradenton Police Department is asking for help tracking down a man accused of giving a 10-year-old child and a grandfather a scare Tuesday afternoon.

According to the agency, a man approached a child in the 2100 block of 11th Street West around 4:30 p.m. March 7. The man, an email from the police department said, approached the child in a vehicle and offered up a piece of candy.

“The subject was confronted by the child’s grandfather, who overheard the conversation, and the subject drove off,” the email said.

Police are now looking for the white male, who is believed to be between the age of 60 and 70. The man has white hair and was last seen wearing a yellow shirt. He is said to have long arm hair. Police say he was driving an older model silver Ford Taurus wagon.
