The Greyson to Open Second Manatee County Location

The Greyson, a family-friendly sports bar, that opened in Palmetto earlier this year is already planning its second location.

Its owners Russell Matthes and Tom Halkidis have filed the paperwork to open in Lakewood Ranch in the Lakewood Walk shopping center at 11161 State Road 70 E., according to the Bradenton Herald.

The space, which previously housed Truman’s Tap & Grill, will include a covered patio and should open in two to four months.

“We are planning on making the new location very similar to the current successful location. The complete remodel will include redesign of the bar, kitchen and interior,” Mathes told the Herald.

Fuego Comida & Tequila Lounge Opening in Lakewood Ranch

An upscale Mexican restaurant, Fuego Comida & Tequila Lounge, will celebrate its grand opening in Lakewood Ranch Nov. 1, which is Day of the Dead.

That day, the eatery will host a block party with a tequila tasting, face painter, fire dancer and a pinata at 11615 State Road 70, according to the Observer Media Group.

“I want it to be like a festival. It will be adult-friendly, but kid-friendly also,” Randi Lee, general manager, said. “The adults will be able to relax while their kids play.”

The restaurant will focus on serving authentic, from-scratch Mexican food with ingredients imported from Mexico or house-made.

Melange Rebranded As Marcel After Sale

After being sold to St. Petersburg Chef Jeremy Duclut, a former “Chopped” television show winner, Melange in downtown Sarasota has been rebranded as Marcel.

“As you may recall, the restaurant was sold earlier this year, and while it appeared there weren't going to be changes made, the new owners have decided to put their own stamp on the more than 15-year-old restaurant,” Restaurants in Sarasota wrote in a Facebook post.

The restaurant closed over the summer for renovations and reopened Wednesday under the name Marcel with a newly revamped menu, which features seafood, beef and vegetarian dishes.

Twin Peaks Opens in Sarasota

The Twin Peaks restaurant chain opened its new Sarasota location at 3060 Fruitville Commons Blvd. on Oct. 9, according to FSR Magazine.

The sports lodge is known for its scratch-made food, 29-degree draft beers and the Twin Peaks Girls.

“It’s about time we brought the Twin Peaks experience to Sarasota,” Joe Hummel, CEO, said. “Located just 30 minutes from the beach, our newest location will be the perfect hangout for sports fans looking to watch a game, enjoy an ice-cold beer, or grab dinner with friends.”

The Sarasota location features a 300-seat dining room and a patio bar.

Mitaka Japanese Ramen House Opens Second Location

West Bradenton’s Mitaka Japanese Ramen House has opened a second location in Manatee County.

The new restaurant is at 5943 Factory Shops Blvd. near the Ellenton Premium Outlets.

It opened Sept. 20 and features a menu nearly identical to its original location, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Takeout, Delivery Buffalo Wild Wings Opens in Bradenton

A delivery- and takeout-only Buffalo Wild Wings GO opened in Bradenton at 5423 14th St. W.

It has a walk-up counter, digital menu boards and a pick-up window, the Bradenton Herald reported.

It will serve the chain’s traditional and boneless wings, hand-breaded tenders, chicken sandwiches, burgers and more.
