Gunman Flees After Woman Refuses Demands, Deputy Says

A 37-year-old woman has reported to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office that a man approached her as she was standing outside at 665 Cortez Road West, the address for Plato's Closet.

She said that the suspect pointed a gun at her and demanded money. She told deputies that she refused to hand over anything, and he fled the scene. The victim did not know the suspect.

The suspect is described as in his 20s, wearing a red shirt, black and red jogging pants, and a black and red ball cap.

The incident occurred Sunday at about 12 p.m.
