Homicide Detectives Search Beach for Clues in Woman's Disappearance

Deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office have been searching for Sabine Musil-Buehler for nearly three years.

Homicide detectives hoped for a significant find Tuesday in the nearly three-year-old disappearance case of Sabine Musil-Buehler.

A team of deputies drove backhoes and front-end loaders across the Anna Maria Island beach, digging up sand layer by layer in an effort to find something that would help solve the case and lead to an arrest.

Musil-Buehler disappeared after the presidential election in November 2008. The case recently heated back up after Island resident Ed Moss found some of the missing woman's belongings in overgrown brush just off of the beach.
