Human Remains Found On Halloween Identified As Missing Man

Human remains discovered on Halloween have been confirmed to be those of 37-year-0ld Jeremey Joyner, who had been missing since May.

PALMETTO, FL -- Human remains discovered on Halloween have been confirmed to be those of 37-year-0ld Jeremey Joyner who had been missing since last may. The remains were found in a field off 16th Avenue E and 61st Street E.

Joyner was reported missing on May 25 after he failed to show up to take a family member to a doctor's appointment. His car was later found abandoned in the 600 block of MLK Boulevard (9th Street East) in Bradenton with personal items still inside.

"Detectives had reason to believe his disappearance was suspicious in nature, but at that time there was no evidence of foul play," said Randy Warren of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office on Monday. "The case is now being investigated as a homicide."

Warren said the manner of death and other details of the case were not being released.

Joyner's remains were discovered around 12:55 p.m. by a resident who was walking through the brushy field collecting shrubbery.
