(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)—Pickle Pizza is a limited time lunch option in the Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) cafeteria that puts a new spin on a classic lunch staple.
Sophomore Blake Hooker tried it and had some mixed opinions.

“Honestly, the dish wasn’t my favorite, but I will admit it was really fun to try,” stated Hooker.
The cafeteria staff describes the dish as a white pizza, which means it has a garlic alfredo sauce base with mozzarella cheese instead of traditional tomato sauce.

The pizza is a limited-edition menu item that will be available until some time in November.
If students across the district enjoy it, the dish may be returned as a permanent menu item for the entirety of the year.

Assistant Cafeteria Manager Sonya Baxter remarked that the base of the pizza is one of the best school lunches she’s tried, so even those who don’t care for pickles are able to enjoy it.
“Students just need to be brave and try it! It really is a good dish overall,” stated Baxter.
The cafeteria reported that there were 54 more slices of pizza sold on average in the past week than the week prior.
Any Mustangs interested in branching out from their normal lunch orders should stop by the cafeteria and try the pickle pizza before it's gone.
