Man, 47, Killed In Pedestrian Crash

A Lakewood Ranch man was killed in a Tuesday night crash on State Road 70 and 56th Court East.

BRADENTON, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Tuesday night crash that claimed the life of a 47-year-old Lakewood Ranch man.

According to the patrol, Harry R. Quinter, 74, of Ellenton was heading east on State Road 70 just before 9 p.m. April 11. As Quinter’s Nissan Maxima traveled east of 56th Court East in the right lane, Tabah N. Baker was walking on the eastbound lane of State Road 70.

Quinter, a highway patrol report said, did not see Baker in the road and struck him with the front of his car. Baker was taken to a local hospital following the crash, but died from his injuries.

Charges are pending the outcome of the highway patrol’s investigation.
