Man Charged With Murder After Argument Leads To Fatal Stabbing In FL

A man was charged with murder for fatally stabbing another man during an argument, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

BRADENTON, FL — A man was charged with murder in a fatal stabbing that happened early Saturday morning in Bradenton, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Jean Addition, 39, is accused of stabbing 40-year-old Wednes Celophat to death, the agency said.

When deputies responded to a home in the 400 block of 60th Avenue Drive East just after 2 a.m. they found both men injured.

The man later identified as Cleophat had multiple stab wounds, the sheriff’s office said. The other man, Addition, had a laceration on his head.

Both men were brought to separate hospitals for treatment.

Cleophat was pronounced dead from his injuries around 7:15 a.m. at Blake Hospital.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators that the stabbing began as an argument between the two men.

Addition was arrested for murder and booked into Manatee County Jail.

The motive for the fight is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
