Man Charged With Trying to Kidnap Girls at a Park
The 20-year-old is accused of grabbing a 7-year-old child and urging two other girls she was playing with to come with him.

A 20-year old man is being held in the Manatee County jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond on charges he tried to kidnap a little girl playing at a county park on Saturday.
According to a Manatee County Sheriff's report:
A man, believed to be Kelvin J. Oakley, approached three girls, ages 7, 9 and 10 – as they played at Pride Park in the 6100 block of 9th Street East.

The suspect is accused of grabbing the 7-year-old by the arm and telling all three girls he had a secret and to come with him.
The 7-year-old managed to pull away and the girls ran. The man grabbed the 7-year-old again, and again she was able to break away, according to the Sheriff's report. The girls ran to a nearby home and told an adult what was happening.

The man was identified as Oakley, who was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted kidnapping.
