Man, 20, Killed in Shed Fire; Neighbors Hear Explosion
The victim had been working in his grandmother's yard.
A 20-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon after a shed he was working in caught fire in an explosion, according to a report from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was working in the yard at a house in the 5400 block of 36th Street East when neighbors told deputies they heard was an explosion in the shed behind the house.
Southern Manatee Fire & Rescue responded and was on scene putting out the fire when deputies arrived. Firefighters discovered the body inside the shed.

Jack Sheriman, a state fire marshal, said the fire was contained to the shed, which was destroyed.
"It's pointing to an accidental fire," Sheriman said.

The homeowner's grandson had been working in the yard, Sheriman said. He had finished mowing and was getting ready to use the weedeater.
Southern Manatee Fire & Rescue and the Division of State Fire Marshall will continue investigating.
