Man Shot Sunday Evening While Sitting on His Porch

Suspect walked up to victim, pulled out a gun and shot two or three times.

An east Bradenton man who was sitting on his front porch at 6:30 p.m. Sunday was shot twice in the leg by a passerby, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report.

The victim was sitting on his front porch in the 5600 block of Sixth Street Court East when the suspect walked down the street. The victim waved, and the suspect waved back.

A short time later, the suspect came back up the street and walked up to where the victim was sitting and pulled out a small pistol and shot two to three times, according to the report.

The bullets hit the victim in the calf of his left leg. The gunman ran east.

The victim was taken to l with a gunshot wound that didn’t appear serious, the report said. Crime scene investigators found two shell casings at the scene and entered them into evidence.
