Man Stabbed During Bradenton Robbery Attempt

Manatee County deputies are looking for a man accused of stabbing another during a Monday night robbery in Bradenton.

BRADENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Monday night robbery that took a violent turn, sending a 37-year-old man to the hospital.

According to the agency, the victim was walking south along 18th Street West around 8:15 p.m. April 10. As the man approached the entrance to the Oasis apartments, he told deputies another man approached him and immediately stabbed him in the stomach. The armed robber then demanded the victim's valuables, an email from the sheriff's office said.

When the victim told the man he had nothing on him, the suspect reportedly took off. The victim reported the crime after being transported to a local hospital, the agency noted.

The suspect in the case remains at large. He is described as a white male in his mid-20s. The man is said to stand about 5-foot-10 and weighs an estimated 180 pounds. He has short brown hair and was last seen wearing plaid shorts, a light-colored shirt and glasses, according to deputies.

Patch is not releasing the name of the victim. Deputies say his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
