Manatee County School Bus, Car Collide
Both drivers were cited after a Manatee County School bus and a car collided early Friday morning.

BRADENTON, FL — A Manatee County school bus driver and motorists started Friday morning off with citations in hand following a crash along 5th Street East.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, William Mitchell, 41, of Bradenton was driving a county school bus on 32nd Avenue East around 7 a.m. March 31. Mitchell had one adult passenger, but no students on his bus, when he stopped westbound for the sign at 5th Street East.
Troopers say Ned Mixon, 35, of Bradenton was heading north on 5th Street East at that time in a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Mitchell didn’t see Mixon’s car, a highway patrol report said, and began to turn the bus right onto 5th Street East. When he did, the front of the Mitsubishi hit the left side of the bus.
