Manatee County Schools 2017-18 Calendar

BRADENTON, FL — While most kids might say it’s way too early to consider talking about next school year, parents know better. Those first bells will ring soon enough, and that means it’s time to start getting ready.

Parents who want to get a jump start on planning their schedules for the academic year ahead will find Patch has them covered. Here are the important dates for kids enrolled in Manatee County Schools for the 2017-18 academic year:

• First day of school – Aug. 10
• Labor Day holiday – Sept. 4
• Early release day – Sept. 6
• Early release day – Oct. 4
• End of first quarter – Oct. 12
• Non-student day – Oct. 13
• Elementary early release day – Oct. 20
• Elementary early release day – Nov. 3
• Veterans Day holiday – Nov. 10
• Thanksgiving holiday – Nov. 20-24
• Hurricane makeup days, if needed – Nov. 20-22
• Early release day – Dec. 6
• High school early release – Dec. 18-20
• End of first semester – Dec. 20
• Winter break – Dec. 21 through Jan. 5, 2018
• Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday – Jan. 15
• Early release day – Feb. 7
• Residents Day holiday – Feb. 19
• Early release day – March 7
• End of third quarter – March 15
