BRADENTON, FL — Amber Woods was only 16 when her lifeless body was found 13 years ago about 20 feet from State Road 62 and three miles west of the Hardee County line.

Despite dozens of interviews over the years, the sheriff's office has been unable to find Wood's killer.

The sheriff's office along with the Gold Star Club of Manatee County announced this week that officials are offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the teen's death.

"An autopsy confirmed that Amber died from a gunshot wound to an undisclosed part of the body," the spokesman said.

A photo of Woods released by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office shows the teen standing in front of a celebrity poster wearing a T-shirt that says "No Boys Allowed" with pink curtains in the background.

She was last seen alive by her aunt in their home in the 3100 block of State Road 62 in Hardee County around 12:30 a.m. Feb. 11, 2006. Her body was found around 7:30 a.m.

"Detectives believe Amber may have left the house on her own early Saturday morning as there is no evidence that she was forcibly taken from the residence," the spokesman said. "At this time, a motive for the shooting is unclear."
