Missing Swimmer's Body Found Off Anna Maria Island: Manatee County Sheriff
The body of a swimmer missing off Anna Maria Island over Labor Day Weekend was likely found, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — The body of a missing swimmer is believed to have been recovered from waters just west of Anna Maria Island, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies are working to identify the man and notify his family members.
The swimmer was swept away by the tide off Bean Point on Sunday evening.

Around 7 p.m., witnesses saw the man about 100 yards from the beach in the Gulf, the sheriff’s office said.

He had been swimming with another man, who was rescued and brought to shore by people nearby, the agency said.
