Parrish Man Charged In Road Rage Death

PALMETTO, FL — A 47-year-old Parrish man has been arrested in connection with the road rage death of Bradley John Yost of Palmetto two days after Yost's 32nd birthday.

The Dec. 6 incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Bayshore Road, west of U.S. 41 in Palmetto, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

John Thomas Cray of Parrish was charged with manslaughter involving a weapon and leaving the scene of an accident with death, FHP said.

Yost was heading east on Bayshore Road in his 2018 Honda Accord when Cray allegedly came up behind him in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.

"An altercation occurred between the two vehicles which led to Mr. Yost stopping his vehicle on the side of Bayshore Road and Mr. Cray stopping his truck next to it," according to Florida Highway Patrol. "Mr. Yost exited his vehicle and walked in the roadway toward the front of Mr. Cray’s truck. Mr. Cray then accelerated and struck Mr. Yost."

Cray, who was traveling with a woman identified as 30-year-old Nicole Lynn, allegedly drove away with Yost pinned under his truck.

"Mr. Yost eventually dislodged from under the truck and came to rest within the westbound lane of 73rd Street, west of U.S. 41," FHP explained. "Mr. Yost was pronounced deceased on scene by North River Fire Department."

FHP said Cray was arrested on Monday and booked into Manatee County Jail.
