Patrol Car Crashes After Avoiding Deer in Road

The deputy's vehicle was traveling on M.J. Road when a deer darted in front of the car.

A patrol car veered off M.J. Road in Myakka City, striking a fence, after a deer darted in front of the vehicle. The officer was not injured in the crash.

Deputy Alan Judy of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office was driving south in the  11000 block of M.J. Road at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5.

As he was approaching the apex of the curve, a deer darted out in front of his patrol vehicle. The officer attempted to swerve, causing the car to drive onto the shoulder of the south side of the road. The vehicle then veered off the road and hit a fence, according to the Sheriff's Office.
