Pine Avenue Turns Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Check out the decorated pink bras along Pine Avenue to raises awareness about breast cancer and money for research.

The Shops of Pine Avenue on Anna Maria are planning the 2ndAnnual Pink on Pine Porch Party to bring awareness to Breast Cancer and raise money for the cause. The most common and recognizable symbol of breast cancer is a woman's bra. Pink is the official color of Breast Cancer awareness. So the Pine Avenue shop keepers plan on putting the two together.

At least 100 elaborately and lavishly decorated Pink Bras will line the porches of Pine Avenue the week of October 15. Anyone can submit a bra for the competition. Bring your decorated bra out to any Pine Avenue participating merchants during the week of October 15th.

The final voting will take place at the monthly Porch Party at 401 Pine Avenue on Friday, October 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm right before the annual Bayfest festival starts.
