A police dog helped catch a 23-year-old man who allegedly snatched $40 outside a Bradenton home, the sheriff's office said Friday.
Barley, a Manatee County Sheriff's Office K-9, tracked down and bit Matthew Clayton White after he tried to elude capture.
White had allegedly grabbed $40 from the relative of a female acquaintance as the two were standing outside the relative's home in the 300 block of 64th Street Northeast at around 1:15 a.m. Friday morning, according to a sheriff's office report.

Sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter and the K-9 tracked White to a backyard, where he refused to surrender. Barley then bit and apprehended White, who did not offer any further resistance, the report states. He was charged with robbery by sudden snatching.
