Proposed Lena Road Improvements Focus Of Public Meeting: County

Manatee County will share information, answer questions about proposed Lena Road improvements at a public meeting Thursday.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Learn about proposed improvements to Lena Road at a public meeting Thursday night, 5 to 8 p.m., at Peace Presbyterian Church, 12705 E. State Road 64, Bradenton.

The project will help connect Lena Road to State Road 70 to the south and S.R. 64 to the north, according to a Manatee County news release.

The roadwork would widen Lena Road by 1.75 miles, from the 44th Avenue East Extension Project to S.R. 64, from an existing two-lane rural roadway to a two-lane urban divided roadway with a wide median, curb and gutter, the county said.

Other proposed improvements include a continuous shared-use path on the west side and a sidewalk on the east side for bicycle and pedestrian traffic, the county said.
