CHICAGO – This Giving Tuesday, December 3, The Original Rainbow Cone (Rainbow Cone), inventor of Chicago’s 99-year-old five-flavor cone, will launch a weeklong fundraising campaign to support hurricane recovery efforts in Southwest Florida. Guests at select Rainbow Cone ice cream shops in the Chicago area, Florida, Wisconsin, and Indiana will have the opportunity to round up their purchases at the register to contribute to Manatee Community Foundation’s Disaster Recovery Fund, aiding victims of the recent devastating storms, including Hurricane Helene.

“Rainbow Cone has always been about bringing members of local communities together,” said Lynn Sapp, a third-generation member of Rainbow Cone’s founding family and a Florida resident herself. “We’re heartbroken to see the impact these storms have had on local businesses and residents. Partnering with Manatee Community Foundation allows us to give back in a meaningful way and help our neighbors rebuild during this challenging time.”

The giveback will run from December 3 to December 9, with Rainbow Cone's Bradenton location extending the effort through the end of the month. Already, Manatee Community Foundation’s Disaster Recovery Fund has distributed over $250,000 to assist Southwest Florida residents affected by recent hurricanes. Funds raised through Rainbow Cone’s initiative will help extend this vital support, providing relief for the many families and businesses still recovering from the devastation.
