Riverview Routs Braden River
Braden River was on the road Friday night as it fell to the Rams in Sarasota.
Final: Riverview 36, Braden River 7
Recap: Capitalizing off eight turnovers, host Riverview gave alum Todd Johnson his first victory as a high school head football coach Friday night. The Rams took a lead they would never relinquish when freshman Karon Higdon capped an 11-play, 78-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run. A little more than two minutes later, Evan Potoka booted a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the first half.
Although Riverview intercepted four passes and recovered four fumbles, it had difficulty holding onto the football. Quarterback Tater Williams recovered his own fumble and ran for a 1-yard touchdown to give the Rams a 19-7 lead. Wide receiver Jeremy Jones registered a touchdown by recovering teammate Terrell Warren's fumble in the end zone early in the fourth quarter.

Quotable: "It feels great. I'm happy for the guys. They've been dealing with a lot of adversity, and they've been handling great. Once again, we had some adversity early in the game and they handled it. We were able to have some success (tonight). I was happy to see it for the guys." - First-year Riverview head coach Todd Johnson
