Roads Closed In Manatee County Days After Hurricane Ian
There are multiple road closures Saturday throughout Manatee County, days after Hurricane Ian hit Southwest Florida.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Days after Hurricane Ian hit Southwest Florida, there are still several significant road closures impacting travel through and within Manatee County on Saturday, according to a county news release.
In Sarasota County, because of rising Myakka River waters, a section of Interstate 75 remains closed Saturday, impacting travel throughout the entire region, Manatee County said.
The interstate is closed in both directions from mile market 193 at Jacaranda Boulevard to mile marker 179 at Toledo Blade Boulevard.

Here are road closures reported in Manatee County:
- State Road 64 at the county line with Hardee County.
- State Road 70 at the county line with DeSoto County due to water in the roadway.
- Upper Manatee River Road just west of Rye Road because of water over the roadway.
- 28th Avenue Dr. W. at 85th Street in Palmetto because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- Lepps Road at Bayshore Road in Palmetto because of downed wires in trees near the roadway.
- 12st and 122nd avenues E. at 77th and 78th streets E. in Parrish because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- 36th Avenue E. just south of 37th Street E., off Ellenton Gillette Road, because of possible roadway erosion and tree damage on/near the roadway.
- Britt Road east of Fort Hamer Road because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- Bunker Hill Road at 89th Street E. because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- River Road at 69th Street E., south of Tara Elementary School, because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- 15th Street E. at Tallevast Road because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- 15th Street E. at State Road 70 because of a downed light pole.
- 7070 15th Street E. because of downed wires on/near the roadway.
- 32790 Taylor Grade Road because of a tree leaning on a power line.
- 1711 45th Street E. because of a pole leaning over the roadway.
- Palma Sole Boulevard south of Manatee Avenue because of a tree in the roadway.
- 30607 Singletary Road because of water over the roadway.
- 37775 Singletary Road because of water over the roadway.
- Wauchula Road, one mile north of Ballard Road, because of water over the roadway.
- Chapman Road because of a tree and power line down in the roadway.
- Jim Davis Road Bridge because of water over the roadway.
- 49th Street E. at 22nd Street Court E. because of low downed wires over the roadway.
- 57th Avenue W. at 16th Street W. because of a tree down across the roadway.
Manatee County intersections are slowly returning to normal with power restoration and the use of generators.

However, there are still 49 intersections without signals, the county said. Drivers should treat these locations as a four-way stop.
