Sheriff's Office Investigates Shooting Threat At Bayshore High
Bathroom graffiti references "shootout on Valentine's Day" that authorities say they believe is a hoax.

Graffiti that referenced a "shootout on Valentine's Day" on a bathroom wall doesn't appear to be serious, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday, but it isn't taking any chances.
Sheriff's deputies were sent to the high school Wednesday and will remain there through Valentine's Day on Monday, sheriff's office spokesman Dave Bristow said.
"We think it's a hoax," Bristow said. "We don't think there's anything to it."

Bristow said the sheriff's office believes it knows who was responsible for the message and was trying to track that student down Wednesday afternoon. Deputies also investigated a message posted on Facebook that referenced the threat, Bristow said.
