Skyway Bridge Delays Caused By 2 Crashes

Motorists are being warned that two separate crashes have created delays and blockage on the Skyway Bridge Tuesday morning.

BRADENTON, FL — As the Florida Highway Patrol works two separate crashes that occurred Tuesday morning on the Skyway Bridge, officials are warning motorists to expect delays.

One crash occurred in the northbound lanes near the 11 milepost, the agency reported.

That crash involves an overturned dump truck that spilled a load of dirt. All northbound lanes were blocked as of 11:47 a.m. Jan. 10, Sgt. Steve Gaskins reported.

The second crash happened in the southbound lanes, also near the 11 milepost. Details about that crash are not yet available, but Gaskins said it, too, involves a road block. Only one inside southbound lane was open as of 11:47 a.m.

“Motorists should expect delays as troopers and first responders work to clear the roadway,” Gaskins warned.
