Sock Menorah to Light up Lakewood Ranch
The event takes place as part of the world's largest Chanukah observance.

From Chabad of Bradenton: Chabad of Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch will spread the light of Chanukah throughout Manatee County with four special events and projects.
Highlighting these events will be Chabad’s annual Chanukah Extravaganza at Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Chabad will build a Giant Sock Menorah and kindle the menorah at 6:00 pm. This will be followed by a PowerSkip Show from Fight or Flight productions, Chanukah music, Falafel with Yoav, Kosher BBQ sponsored by Bogey’s, and Kona’s Ice Truck! Chanukah activities at this event will include Chanukah Art, Orit’s Doughnut Decorating, Face Painting, Judah Maccabee Meets, Dreidel Moonbounce, Hot Latkes, Raffles, and more.
This event is co-sponsored by the Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Socks may be dropped off at The Chabad House located at 5712 Lorraine Road in advance or brought to the event to benefit the homeless of Manatee County. Admission is free. Some nominal food fees to apply. Donations Appreciated. Sponsor $500.

The public menorah lighting was organized by Rabbi Mendy Bukiet, spiritual leader of Chabad of Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch, who remarked, “The Menorah serves as a symbol of Manatee County's dedication to preserve and encourage the right and liberty of all its citizens to worship G-d freely, openly, and with pride. Specifically in America, a nation that was founded upon and vigorously protects the right of every individual to practice his or her religion free from restraint and persecution, the Menorah takes on profound significance, embodying both religious and constitutional principles.”
Other Chanukah events organized by Chabad this year will be the Chanukah Menorah Lighting at Ellenton Outlet, Chabad Hebrew School of the Arts Toys for a Smile Mitzvah Factory, and CTeen Chanukah. See below for more information on these events or contact Chabad at 941-752-3030, info@chabadofbradenton.com or on the Chabad of Bradenton website for more information.
The Menorahs in Lakewood Ranch and Ellenton are among thousands of large public menorahs sponsored by Chabad throughout the world, helping children and adults of all walks of life discover and enjoy the holiday message.
