BRADENTON, FL -- A stolen Honda crashed into a Bradenton living room on Thursday afternoon, touching off a manhunt for the driver, according to the Manatee Sheriff's Office.

Randy Warren of the sheriff's office said the incident happened around 1:40 p.m. in the 6000 block of 2nd Street West.

Deputies arrested a 15-year-old passenger of the black Honda at the scene but were still searching for the driver as of Thursday night. Patch is withholding the name of the passenger because of his age.

"A detective in an unmarked MCSO vehicle observed a reckless driver in a Black Honda leaving 5907 2nd St W heading westbound," Warren explained. "The vehicle was confirmed stolen earlier in the day."

As the detective called in the tag number, the Honda continued traveling "even more recklessly" as it headed east on 61St Ave W, Warren said.

"The vehicle could not negotiate the curve at 61st and 2nd St W and drove into the living room" of the home, he said. "The driver fled and remains at large.

The damaged home was evacuated, along with the adjoining duplex.

"Several people were inside the residence at the time, but none of them were injured," Warren said.

The passenger was charged with trespassing in a conveyance and taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital after complaining of leg pain.
