LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL — A 14-year-old student at Lakewood Ranch High School was arrested Thursday afternoon for making online threats about a shooting at the school, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Though MCSO named the teen, it’s Patch policy not to name minors accused of a crime unless they’ve been charged as an adult. It’s unknown whether he has been charged as a juvenile or an adult.
A tip indicating a shooting was planned at the school on Friday was submitted to the Fortify FL app on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said.
