Suspected Arby's Bandit Sought By Manatee Sheriff

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office was searching for a 29-year-old man Thursday in connection with an earlier armed robbery at an Arby's.

BRADENTON, FL -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office was searching for a 29-year-old man Thursday in connection with an earlier armed robbery at an Arby's restaurant.

Randy Warren of the sheriff's office told Patch that someone at the restaurant identified the suspect as Fredie South. The sheriff's office subsequently asked for the public's help in finding South.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. at the Arby's located at 3608 1st Street West.

"The suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and forced the manager to open the safe," the sheriff's office explained. "The suspect was last seem fleeing the area on foot."

No one was injured during the robbery, according to the sheriff's office.
