Teen Arrested in Connection With Law Enforcement Officer's Stolen Gun
The 16-year-old was caught after he reportedly fired the gun in his yard.

The Bradenton Police Department arrested a 16-year-old on several charges after he was caught with a law enforcement officer's gun when police officers responded to a call about someone shooting a gun in the 2300 block of 9th Avenue West.
The Bradenton Police department arrested David Laycock on several charges related to the shooting and the stolen weapon. Police believe that the teen shot the gun in his yard. There were no reported injuries at the scene, according to a Bradenton Police report.
After Laycock was arrested, a detective with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office questioned him about the stolen gun. According to a report from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office Laycock confessed to being involved in a burglary at the law enforcement officer's house two days earlier.

A State Probation Officer, who was not named in the sheriff's report, called the sheriff's office on Jan. 30 to report that someone had broken into his home through a sliding glass door. The burglars had taken the officer's duty pistol, a ballistic vest and other property valued at $3,100.
Laycock told the detective that the bullet-proof vest was in his bedroom. The Sheriff's Office searched Laycock's house and found the vest along with other items that belonged to the probabtion officer.
