Three Hurt in Rush-Hour Crash

A vehicle that failed to stop in time triggered a three-car crash on U.S. 301.

A three-vehicle accident on U.S. 301 Monday left two drivers seriously injured and a 13-year-old passenger with minor injuries, according to the Florida Highway Partrol.

Robert Shay Henry, 45, of Bradenton and Aquilla McGuire Walker, 41, of Palmetto both suffered serious injuries. Maquia Walker, 13, a passenger in Aquilla's car, had minor injuries.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when Henry failed to stop his 2005 Isuzu in time, as Walker slowed down her 2009 Chevrolet in traffic on U.S. 301 near 15th Street East.

Henry's Isuzu slammed into the back of Walker's Chevrolet. The impact caused the Chevrolet to hit a 2004 Ford driver by 51-year-old Margaret Duffy of Sarasota. Duffy was not injured in the crash.

The accident occurred at 5:41 p.m., Monday, April 15. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Henry will be charged with careless driving.
