Toddler, 3, Seriously Injured In SUV Crash

A 3-year-old Bradenton girl was hospitalized Tuesday night after a crash involving a SUV.

BRADENTON, FL — A 3-year-old Bradenton girl was hospitalized Tuesday night after the Florida Highway Patrol says she ran into the path of an oncoming SUV.

According to the agency, Kade Leavitt, 19, of Bradenton was driving a Mazda CX-7 south on Hubbel Road just before 7:30 p.m. May 23. As Leavitt approached Pine Street, troopers say the little girl ran into the path of the oncoming vehicle.

The front of Leavitt’s Mazda struck the child, a highway patrol report said. The girl, who is not being identified by Patch, was taken to All Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. Troopers say she was last listed in stable condition.

Leavitt and his passenger were not injured. No charges were filed in the crash, a highway patrol report noted.
