Tractor-Trailer Driver Left Scene Of Crash On FL Highway

A Bradenton man's SUV hit the back of a semi tractor-trailer truck that pulled in front of it from the shoulder on I-75, FL troopers said.

LEE COUNTY, FL — The driver of a semi tractor-trailer truck left the scene of a crash after being hit from behind by an SUV early Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 in Lee County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The truck was on the outside shoulder of the highway’s northbound lanes just north of Exit 143 while the SUV, driven by a Bradenton man, was heading north on I-75 around 1:30 a.m.

When the truck entered the northbound travel lanes from the shoulder, the front of the SUV crashed into the back of the trailer, FHP said.

After the crash, the truck kept driving north on I-75, troopers said. The truck’s driver hasn't been identified.

The 34-year-old SUV driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.
