Travel Advisory Issued On Sunshine Skyway Bridge Thursday Morning: FHP
Drivers are advised to use caution on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge Thursday morning because of high winds, Florida Highway Patrol said.

FLORIDA — A travel advisory was issued Thursday morning for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge because of high winds, according to the Florida Highway Patrol’s Live Traffic Crash and Road Condition Report.
Wind gusts ranging from 28 to 33 mph were recording on the bridge Thursday morning, FHP told Patch.

While the bridge remains open, drivers are advised to use caution when going in either direction.
The bridge closes when there are maximum sustained winds of 50 mph or higher. It most recently closed during Hurricane Ian at the end of September and Tropical Storm Nicole earlier this month.

The four-lane cable-stayed concrete bridge with northbound and southbound lanes is part of I-275 and U.S. Highway 19. It connects Pinellas and Manatee counties.
