BRADET, FL — Manatee County is accepting applications for a vacancy on the Tourist Development Council. The council makes recommendations to county commissioners on how to spend tourist tax dollars.

Interested candidates must be a registered voter in Manatee County. Completed applications are due on Dec. 20 and may be obtained online.

The term expires on June 30, 2020, but the successful candidate may re-apply to serve for a full four-year term.

The TDC has nine members who make recommendations to commissioners concerning projects in the Tourist Development Plan as well as possible uses for Tourist Development Tax dollars.

The TDC meets on the third Monday of every other month at 9 a.m. at various locations throughout Manatee County.
