Want to Help With the County's No Kill Effort? Rescue Organizations Offer 125 Ways
Animal advocate organized a meeting Wednesday night and offered 125 ways to help make Manatee County's no-kill efforts a success.
So you believe in the county's no-kill efforts but you can't adopt or even foster a dog or cat. No need to give up.
The animal rescue groups on Wednesday night shared a list of 124 other things people can do to help with the no-kill effort.
Some of those things are:

Provide transportation for dogs and/or cats to vet appointments or foster homes.
Donate towels, blankets or other "bedding type items that can be used inside a crate.

Donate a durable dog toy such as a king, a Nylabone or a Hercules.
Donate a crate.
Donate a leash, collar or a halti.
Donate a dog seat belt.
Donate money.
Donate a gift certificate to a pet store.
Donate food and/or treats for pets.
Spay or Neuter your own pet.
Donate your time to research medical conditions that may pertain to pets in particular rescue organizations.
Volunteer to walk dogs for Animal Services, a foster or a rescue group.
Volunteer to groom a dog or cat.
Clip coupons for dog and cat food and treats.
Bake homemade doggie biscuits.
Talk to a friend about fostering or adopting.
Take a dog to obedience class or donate the fee for obedience training.
Donate photography skills and props to take photos of dogs and cats that show off their personalities.
