Woman Hit By Car, Killed While Crossing U.S. 301: FL Highway Patrol
A Palmetto woman was hit by a car and died while crossing U.S. 301 in Manatee County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
PALMETTO, FL — A 25-year-old Palmetto woman crossing U.S. 301 on Wednesday night was hit and killed by a car, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The woman was walking north on the left paved shoulder of the highway around 10:40 p.m. when she tried to cross the road in front of an approaching Lexus.
The car was heading north in the left lane on U.S. 301, south of 63rd Avenue East, at the time of the crash.

The woman stepped in front of the car, which hit her as she crossed the road, FHP said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, an 80-year-old Bradenton man, was uninjured.
