Woman Who Drove Through Red Light Dies In Crash: FL Highway Patrol

A Bradenton woman died after running through a red light and hitting a pick-up truck Saturday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton woman died after running a red light and crashing into a pick-up truck Saturday night in Manatee County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 48-year-old woman was driving her car west on 30th Avenue E., approaching a red traffic signal at U.S. 41, just before 10 p.m.

At the same time, the truck, driven by a 27-year-old Holiday man, was heading north on U.S. 41, approaching a green light at the intersection of 30th Avenue W.

When she failed to stop for the red light, she hit the right side of the truck, FHP said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck’s driver was brought to Blake Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
