1 Injured In Clearwater Area Shooting

CLEARWATER, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting at the Southern Comfort Mobile Home Park in unincorporated Clearwater.

According to the agency, deputies were called to the 24479 U.S. 19 N. park around 1:10 p.m. Jan. 17. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that have been described as life-threatening.

“One subject is in custody,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. “Deputies say that all parties are accounted for and there is no threat to the community.”

No further information, including the victim’s name, is being released at this time.
