2 Hospitalized After Smoke Fills Clearwater Home
Two people were sent to the hospital as a precaution after an incident on Betty Lane Thursday morning.

CLEARWATER, FL — A Thursday morning kitchen mishap in a home on North Betty Lane sent two Clearwater residents to the hospital.
According to Clearwater Fire & Rescue, a call about a possible fire came in from a home in the 1100 block of North Betty Lane around 11 a.m. Jan. 19. The first crews on the scene found “a great amount of smoke but no fire emanating from the source in the kitchen.”
Rescue crews took two people to a local hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation, the agency noted in an email to media.

“A pan with grease on the stove was the source of the incident,” the email said.
No other injuries were reported.
