“The Suzuki Forenza was headed north when it was crushed by the tree,” an email from the police department said.

The Medina and her grandson, Travis Minschere, 8, were treated on the scene by fire medics and then taken to a local hospital. Their injuries are believed to be minor and not life-threatening, the email noted. Police say the two were on the way to the boy's school when the tree fell.
