2 Teen Girls Shot At Clearwater Apartment Complex: Police

Two teenage girls were shot during a gathering at a Clearwater apartment complex pool Saturday night, police said.

CLEARWATER, FL — Two teenage girls were shot during a Saturday night incident at Estates of Countryside, 2652 McMullen Booth Road, the Clearwater Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

Officers and firefighters responded to the home after several calls came in from people who said they heard gunshots around 9:45 p.m.

A 16-year-old girl was found shot at the scene, police said. She was brought to All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg for her non-life-threatening injuries.

A second victim, an 18-year-old girl, showed up at Mease Countryside Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the shooting.

Detectives say there was a large gathering of teens and young adults at the pool area of the apartment complex where there was a dispute and the shooting happened, police said.

Many teens left the pool after the shooting and before officers arrived.

The suspect hasn't been found, police said.
