33 Clearwater Burglaries Appear Related, Police Say
The residential burglaries happened in the North Greenwood, Old Clearwater Bay and Kings Highway neighborhoods since late September.

First, there is a knock at the door.
When no one answers, someone breaks in through the back.
It has happened like this at least 33 times in north Clearwater neighborhoods since late September, according to Clearwater Police.

Four juveniles have been arrested in connection with four of the residential burglaries. Items taken include jewelry, stereos, televisions, money and firearms.
Most of the break-ins in the North Greenwood, Old Clearwater Bay and Kings Highway areas happened during the afternoon and early evening hours, although the times vary, police say.

They are a mix of unlocked and smashed window entry, and many include a similar method of operation, according to investigators.
"While we have stepped up patrols in the areas, we can't be everywhere all the time," said Police Chief Anthony Holloway. "The eyes and ears of the community is a vital component in effective policing. If you see something, please call us when it's happening."
Anyone who sees suspicious subjects or suspicious people should call police immediately. This increases the chances of immediately apprehending a suspect.
