7 Counts Of Possession Of Child Pornography Filed Against Tampa Man

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Tampa man for possession of child pornography.

According to the sheriff's office, on Sept 29, detectives began an investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography was being uploaded via the internet.

Detectives were able to trace the uploaded porn to 32-year-old Dominic Smarowsky of 4356 Hal Paul Circle, Tampa, the sheriff's office said.

On May 30, 2023, detectives arrested Smarowsky and charged him with seven counts of possession of child pornography.

When Smarowsky was interviewed by detectives, he admitted to viewing child pornography of children as young as 4 years old.
