70-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed Crossing Ulmerton Road In Clearwater

This was the second fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Ulmerton Road in Feather Sound in two days.

CLEARWATER, FL — A 70-year-old Acworth City, Georgia, woman was killed Monday while crossing Ulmerton Road on foot.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 7:50 p.m., a 29-year-old Tampa man was driving a car west on Ulmerton Road, just west of Feather Sound Drive, when the woman ran across the southbound lanes of the road and entered his path.

She died at the scene.

This fatal pedestrian crash comes a day after another person died while trying to cross Ulmerton Road.

The highway patrol said, at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, a 38-year-old New York City man was crossing Ulmerton Road west of 34th Street North when a car driven by a 52-year-old Hudson man struck him.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
