Home Improvement Loans Available for Clearwater Homeowners

Homeowners who need help taking care of code-related repairs might be able to get up to $25,000 in help through Clearwater's Economic Development and Housing Department.

Homesteaded, single-family detached homes, townhouses or villas with a comparable sales value that is less than $150,000 are eligible for the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program. The deferred or low interest lows are available for up to $25,000.

Household income must be 80 percent or less than the area median income. For example, a one person household would have to have an income of $31,600 or less. A four person household would have to have an income of $45,100 or less. Other eligibility criteria may apply.

The loan can be used to pay for work incuding roof, plumbing, electrical repairs and ADA modifications.
