Volunteer for Moccasin Lake Nature Park Cleanup

Help pull air potato vines and other exotic and invasive species June 16 at Moccasin Lake Nature Park.

Air potato and other exotic, invasive species of plants displace native ones and disrupt natural processes such as fire and water flow.

Air potato vines can grow very quickly, up to eight inches a day. The vines typically climb to the tops of trees and have a tendency to take over and cover native plants.

Make sure to dress for the outdoors and wear closed-toe shoes and a pair of work gloves. Supervision, tools and supplies will be provided.

All ages are welcome. Students who participate are eligible to receive school service hours.
