Big Clearwater Events Mean Big Need For Volunteers
People looking for volunteer opportunities will find Clearwater needs extra hands for several upcoming events.

CLEARWATER, FL — People on the hunt for unique volunteer opportunities may find Clearwater is the place to be this spring and summer. The city has announced its need for extra hands to assist with some of its biggest events.
“The spring season is upon us and things are beginning to heat up in Clearwater,” the city explained in a Tuesday email. “For Clearwater to be able to host big events, the city relies heavily upon volunteers.”

2017 Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival
This April 14-23 event is big draw to Clearwater. With that in mind, the demand for volunteers is also high. The city said it needs 450 “sand ambassadors" to pull off this multi-day event. Opportunities include helping out with staging, in the sculpting area, with entertainment and more.

Sporting Events
Volunteers are also needed to assist with the July 17-23 National Fast Pitch Tournament and the Junior World Championship July 24-30. Volunteers at both events are needed to help serve as field monitors, team ambassadors, parking assistants, score keepers and more.
