Body Found In Clearwater Wooded Area Identified

Clearwater Police are investigating a grisly discovery made Sunday afternoon.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Clearwater Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a wooded area Sunday afternoon.

According to the agency, the body was reported just before 12:30 p.m. March 26. It was found in a wooded area in the 1200 block of South Hercules Avenue.

“Because of decomposition issues, the identity of the man is unknown at this time,” the agency wrote in a Sunday email to media. The Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office was working to determine the man’s identity and cause of death.

While a cause of death has not been released, police on Monday said the man has been identified as Jeffrey Martin Archangeli, 54. Foul play is not suspected in Archangeli's death, the agency noted.
